Corroded steel, spalling concrete, failing brickwork, tired facades and layouts that no longer work. We restore the structure and fabric of older buildings so they are sound, safe and ready for the next fifty years.
Building restoration is the work of bringing an older building back to sound condition. It is different from a renovation. A renovation changes how a building looks and is used; a restoration deals with what has deteriorated inside it: corroded steel, cracked and spalling concrete, failing brickwork, water damage and past repairs that did not work.
The order matters. We start with the structure: propping, replacing failed beams and lintels, repairing concrete and stabilising masonry. Then we make the building weathertight, and only then move on to finishes. Doing it the other way round means paying twice.
Restoration is also where layouts can be reworked. Old doorways can be infilled, new openings cut with engineered steel over them, and rooms reconfigured, all while the building stays structurally sound.

If any of these sound familiar, it is worth a free site visit. We will tell you straight what your site needs.
Rust stains, cracked render or brickwork above openings, or sagging over windows and doors.
Cracked or falling concrete with rusting steel showing, especially on slabs, balconies and ceilings.
Bricks and mortar that crumble or wash out, often with salt staining.
Leaks through roofs, facades, windows or balconies that have damaged the structure behind.
Patches that keep cracking, sealants that keep failing, and repairs that hid the problem rather than fixing it.
Buildings changing use that need walls removed, openings formed and the structure upgraded to suit.

Every restoration follows the same five steps, from diagnosis to documented handover.
We attend site, inspect the defect and its surroundings, and identify the cause rather than just the symptom. Where needed we take photos, moisture readings and cover measurements.
We coordinate a remedial or structural engineer where required and agree a written scope of works that fixes the cause, not only the visible damage.
You receive a clear, itemised written quote with methodology, materials, access, programme and any approvals. No vague lump sums.
Our crew carries out the work to the engineer's specification and Australian Standards, with progress photos and hold-point inspections at each critical stage.
Final inspection, clean-up and a handover pack: photos, product data, engineer sign-off where applicable, and your statutory warranty under the Home Building Act 1989.
Demolition, structural steel, concrete, masonry and finishes under one licensed builder, so nothing falls between trades.
Restoration needs structural knowledge, not just trades. We bring engineers, licences and decades of experience with older buildings.
We diagnose why the defect happened. Patching over the symptom is why so many repairs fail twice.

We work with remedial and structural engineers from diagnosis to sign-off, so the fix is designed, not guessed.

Real reviews from homeowners, strata and builders.
My partner and I own an original 1920s semi-detached home in Vaucluse, with complex sandstone foundations and multiple structural challenges caused by previous defective works. After years of delays, failed consultants, and no progress, I met Constatine and his team. From the beginning, I was impressed by the detailed review of our plans and the identification of numerous discrepancies that previous builders had missed. The team supported us through lengthy council negotiations, neighbour consultations, and COVID-related delays, even before contracts were signed. Once construction commenced, Constatine and the Meteora Constructions team were exceptional. Progress remained on schedule despite heavy rain, unforeseen structural issues, and highly complex underpinning works that previous builders had refused to undertake. They completed the work efficiently and at significantly less cost than other builders had quoted. I cannot speak highly enough of Constatine and METCON Remedial Services. It is no understatement to say that engaging Constatine and his team saved not only our project, but probably our marriage as well.
We have been undertaking a considerable repair and restoration of our 1850 residence in Darlinghurst. Constatine and his team completed outstanding work, all at a very competitive price. Every deadline was met with no increase to the original quote. Their knowledge, gathered over many years, and their incredible eye for detail significantly improved the final outcome beyond what was originally proposed. I rate them very highly and would recommend them wholeheartedly.
Excellent communication throughout. Constatine and his team were able to assist us immediately on an urgent government project, improved the plans we already had, and provided multiple options to suit our needs. Highly recommended.
Straight answers from the builder. Anything else, just ask.
Restoration repairs what has deteriorated in a building, such as corroded steel, spalling concrete and failing masonry, so it is structurally sound again. Renovation changes its look or layout. Many projects need both, and restoration should come first.
Yes. We restore heritage hotels, terraces and sandstone buildings using methods and materials that suit the original fabric, and work alongside heritage consultants where a building is listed.
Often, yes. We stage work, prop and protect occupied areas and plan noisy work around the people using the building.
Remedial problems rarely come alone. Leaks cause concrete cancer, damp causes render failure. We fix the whole chain.
