/ Discipline & compliance

Every demolition starts
with a plan.

Before we touch a building, we complete hazard assessments, prepare Safe Work Method Statements, coordinate service disconnections, and lodge council notifications. Asbestos surveys are conducted on every pre-2000 building. We manage compliance so the project starts clean and stays clean.

Planned. Compliant. Clean handover.

Demolition &
excavation FAQs

Common questions about demolition, excavation, asbestos, and site preparation across Sydney and NSW.

Q · 01 How much does demolition cost in Sydney?
Demolition costs depend on building size, material type, asbestos presence, access, and disposal requirements. As a guide: an internal strip-out of a single room typically starts around $3,000–$8,000; full house demolition in Sydney ranges from $15,000–$50,000+ depending on size and asbestos; commercial demolition is priced per project. We provide a detailed written quote after a site inspection.
Q · 02 Do I need council approval for demolition?
In most cases, yes. Full structural demolition in NSW requires council notification at minimum, and in most cases a Development Application (DA) or Complying Development Certificate (CDC). Internal strip-outs that do not affect the building envelope or structure may be exempt. We manage the full approval process.
Q · 03 How is asbestos handled during demolition?
All pre-2000 buildings in Sydney should be inspected for asbestos before any demolition work begins. If asbestos is found, it must be removed by a licensed asbestos removalist before general demolition can proceed. We coordinate the testing, engage licensed removalists, and ensure all disposal is to certified facilities with proper tracking documentation.
Q · 04 How long does house demolition take?
A standard residential demolition in Sydney typically takes 1–2 weeks once approvals and asbestos removal are complete. Larger buildings, difficult access, and contaminated sites can take longer. The approvals and asbestos removal phase typically adds 2–6 weeks before demolition begins.
Q · 05 Do you handle excavation as well?
Yes. We handle both demolition and excavation — which is advantageous because the same crew, equipment, and site management is already in place. Excavation for footings, slabs, pools, basements, retaining walls, and bulk earthworks is all within our scope.
Q · 06 What happens to demolition waste?
We segregate waste on site into concrete, timber, metal, plaster, and general waste. Recyclable materials are processed at licensed recycling facilities. Non-recyclable waste goes to licensed landfill. Asbestos waste is transported separately and disposed of at licensed asbestos disposal facilities with full tracking documentation.
